As the title suggests, I finally got around to building my first tail mount park jet, the FRC Foamies F/A-18 Hornet๐
I modified this plane in a few areas, primarily downsized it, added KF4 airfoils, if you watch this video, I discuss my build in far more detail including many lessons learned.
If you want to see more details and pictures of my build, please go to the RC Powers thread on the FRCF F/A-18. Also, you will find a more detailed flight report there.
Being that this was my first tail mount park jet, I also shot this video discussing what I feel are some of the differences between the more popular mid mount "prop in slot" park jets and tail mount.
This park jet erased many of my "paradigms" and pre-conceived notions about tail mount park jets and I have been having a blast flying it and accumulated over 100 flights in about two weeks๐
Some flight footage on 3S (after paint job๐)
And some 4S fun๐
I am not going to be changing my entire "hangar" over to tail mount park jets anytime soon, but I will be building an FRC Foamies F-22 Raptor later this year as it is tough to beat the scale look of a tail mount park jet when you want to show off a little๐

Cheers,
Scott
